What (the TL:DR)

With the holidays approaching, you may be writing to Santa to bring you a fancy new gizmo that promises to make you a better you.

After all, there's so much new, cool, technology out there!

But when it comes to these new inventions, remember these are just tools...

you still have to do the work.

Why (the geeky neurology)

I'm not sure why our universe seems to be organised in a way that means we have to work, toil, labour through discomfort and challenge in order to grow, adapt, and change, but it is.

There's a lot of technology out there to make this process easier or more convenient.

But as far as I know, there's no prop, pill, injection, app, or device that will do all the work for you in a way that creates lasting change.

So....

How (apply it to your life)

Keep doing the work:

Eat as well as you can.

Prioritise sleep as much as you can.

Move your body as often as you can.

Destress your life as much as you can.

And remember a lot of the time, doing these things will be uncomfortable, difficult, and challenging. That is the work.

Mindset matters: enjoy the process. Say "this is easier than I thought!"
