Weak shoulders? Try this brainy tip

đ§
What (the TL:DR)
Add complex movements while working on something like your shoulder stability.
Why (the geeky neurology)
A lot of changes we want to make (like stabilising weak shoulders) are just learning something new for the brain.
You can speed up this change (i.e. learn faster) by adding load.
Load can be many things:
- weight đī¸ââī¸
- duration đ°ī¸
- number of reps âąī¸
- speed đââī¸
- and other things that make it harder đŽâđ¨
And đ§ NEUROLOGICAL load*đ§ is another way to make it harder!
- Think: "make it hard for your brain" -- such as: coordinate many movements at once!
How (apply it to your life)
So...how do you use neurological load for weak shoulders?
One way is today's new class on Move With Adell: Warming Coordination Flow for Shoulders and Side Body đ¤¤
In it, I guide you through some movements that will help your brain map out better shoulder stability...
This will help make shoulder stability a HABIT (so you can do it mindlessly! Easy!)
âī¸ particularly great for you if you have with weak or hypermobile shoulders!
To increase the brain's learning of this movement, and to help the brain recognise it as "safe", we add some neurological "load":
- by being mindful of what we're doing,
- and adding the option to further activate the cerebellum with extra movements through the legs.
If you're like "umm...hang on...I'm not sure I get it..." then, the best way is just to experience it yourself!
